If you know me, you know I love Alaska. It’s the perfect vacation for me, combining my passions for fishing and photography. I arrived in the 49th state for the first time in the summer of 2011 and stayed at a remote king salmon fishing camp on the Nushagak River before traveling to Homer for some halibut fishing. Needless to say, I was caught more and better fish than I ever have in my life and was hooked for life. I am eager to make my 7th fishing trip to Alaska this July.

Last summer was my first trip to Ketchikan, the state’s southernmost city , and only a 2 hour flight from Seattle. The quaint seaside town lived up to its billing as the “Salmon Capital of the World,” as we caught our limits of kings and silvers every day.

But the fishing just isn’t limited to salmon. We got some great halibut and black rockfish too.

As good as the fishing is, what makes this trip so special for me is the opportunity to take unbelievable photos.

Absolutely breathtaking and so peaceful… 💙💖
